Renowned social media influencer Rajab Butt, his best buddy Man Dogar, and five others were detained after a female social media activist accused them of rape, illegal confinement, and blackmail.
A criminal case has been registered at Lahore’s Nawab Town police station against Rajab, Dogar, and five others after the girl ‘A’ filed a serious complaint against them.
As per the first information report (FIR), the shocking incident occurred when the girl befriended a man named Salman Haider on social media.
They became close friends and after building great trust, Salman invited her to a house located on Raiwind Road, where he allegedly drugged and raped her.
He also recorded obscene videos of her and used them to blackmail her over time.
The situation escalated when the girl ‘A’ and her sister, ‘P’, in an attempt to confront Salman, went to Salman’s residence, where they claimed they were locked in a room by Rajab Butt, Man Dogar, Jawad Haider, Jahangir Butt, and Salman Haider.
‘A’ further added in the FIR that Jawad Haider forcibly took their mobile phones, removed the data, threatened them, and then kicked them out of the house.
Police said legal action will be taken based on evidence and the outcome of the enquiries.
