Shehbaz Sharif, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said that no opposition parties have objected to the formation of a national government in Pakistan following the passage of a no-trust motion against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government in the National Assembly (NA).
Shehbaz Sharif told Naseem Zehra, a renowned anchor, on Wednesday night that there would be no going back on the no-confidence motion.
On Wednesday, the unified opposition said that, due to the NA session on March 25, it will now go on a long march against inflation to Islamabad on March 26 (Saturday) rather than today (Thursday, March 24).
Shehbaz Sharif announced the plan after chairing a meeting of opposition parties, saying that PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and his son, Punjab Assembly Leader Hamza Shehbaz, will lead the marchers from his Model Town mansion.
He said that after arriving in Islamabad on March 28, the people would vote against the government.
The PML-N president urged people to attend the march in big numbers, expressing hope that it will satisfy the people’s yearning to relieve themselves of the worst economic crisis, massive price hikes, and joblessness by sending the government home.
