Shahbaz Sharif congratulates people on the 82nd anniversary of Lahore resolution

Shehbaz Sharif, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), congratulated the people on the 82nd anniversary of the passage of the Lahore resolution at Manto Park in 1940.

He stated in his message on the eve of Pakistan Day that Pakistan, which he described as a blessing from Allah, was the outcome of innumerable prayers from Muslims across the subcontinent. “The country came into being as a result of an Indian Muslim democratic struggle led by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah,” he remarked.

The president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) paid tribute to those who had sacrificed their lives for the country’s creation and defense. “At the same time, we must not overlook the ghazis,” he stressed.

Shehbaz went on to say that Pakistan has grown in other disciplines as well as becoming an atomic power in the last 75 years.

He claimed that Pakistan, which he stated had been constructed brick by brick, was now the pride of 22 million people.

The NA’s Leader of the Opposition emphasized the need of following Quaid’s ideal of “unity, faith, and discipline.”

He believed that in order for Pakistan to become affluent, all political parties that were real representatives of the people needed to agree on a “national agenda.” Shehbaz emphasized, “We have to establish an atmosphere of reconciliation in the country.”

Finally, he stated his commitment to working for the country’s progress under the leadership of former Prime Minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.
