Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan suffers knife attack injuries during robbery in Mumbai.
In an unfortunate incident, the Indian film star Saif Ali Khan suffered a back injury as an intruder barged into his house located in Bandra, Mumbai, in the wee hours on Thursday night.
Reports in Indian media said Saif was reportedly asleep with his wife, Kareena Kapoor, and their two children at their Mumbai home around 2:30 am when an intruder entered his house and confronted the movie star.
He then stabbed the actor before fleeing the scene after facing resistance.
Meanwhile, the police have started an investigation into the incident, with many teams working to catch the suspect.
Authorities are also looking into whether Khan was directly stabbed or injured during a struggle with the robber.
The Race star was reportedly rushed to a private medical facility located in Bandra, where he was treated for multiple injuries, two of which were deep.
Surgeons who treated him said one of the wounds was near the spinal cord.
Much detail about the injuries will be shared after surgery, doctors said but they assured that he suffered no spinal damage.
Some reports quoting hospital staff said a piece of sharp hand weapon was found in the body of a movie star, and that the medical team continues to monitor the situation closely.
In her statement, Kareena’s team highlighted that Saif was injured in a fight with the intruder but that the rest of the family, including their children Jeh and Taimur, are safe.
The statement read: “There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the Police are already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern.”
Amid the difficult time, Khan’s wife and other family members are with him at the hospital.
Saif is the son of former Indian cricketer Mansoor Khan Pataudi, who won several awards, including a National Film Award and seven Filmfare Awards.
He started his career with Parampara in the early 90s and made it to several projects, including the Netflix series Sacred Games.
