PCB appoints Wahab Riaz as supervisor for ICC Champions Trophy.
In a surprising twist, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday appointed ex-test cricketer and former senior manager Wahab Riaz as supervisor of the ICC Champions Trophy and head of mentors of the Champions Cup, The Asian Mirror reported on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the resignation of Mohammad Yousaf, who was working as a batting coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), is still in limbo as PCB remains uncertain about accepting or rejecting the resignation.
Wahab Riaz removed as chief selector
Earlier on July 11, 2024, the PCB had removed Wahab Riaz as chief selector of Pakistan’s cricket selection committee.
The decision followed Pakistan’s poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, where the team failed to progress beyond the group stage.
Wahab had been named the chief selector of the Pakistan men’s national team in the aftermath of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

On August 16, 2023, ex-left-arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a career that spanned over a decade.
Wahab Riaz is a Pakistani cricket administrator and former cricketer who is the chief selector of Pakistan national cricket team from 17 November 2023.
He also served as an advisor to the chief minister of Punjab for sports and youth affairs, in the caretaker government headed by Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
