The climate crisis is worsening in Pakistan with poor air quality and dense smog. This pollution is affecting not only humans but also flora and fauna.

Plants are starved of sunlight, deprived of photosynthesis. Birds struggle for breath, some unable even to take flight.

According to details, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has launched a major cleaning campaign for the plants and trees along Canal Road in Faisalabad, responding to the adverse effects of smog.

Due to the thick haze, the pores of trees and plants have become clogged, disrupting their natural processes of oxygen release and carbon absorption.

The authority had also started to conduct pruning and trimming activities to improve the overall growth and health of the plants.
