The administration appears to be under great duress as a no-confidence move against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s approaches.
However, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser sought to play it cool on Monday, stating that things were not as bad as the media was portraying them to be.
NA Speaker Qaiser, speaking at a ceremony, refuted the notion that the administration was in disarray. The speaker, who appeared unmoved, exhorted the nation to keep their cool and watch less television. People will be less tense if they stop watching television, he says, adding that “things are not as awful as the media portrays.”
The opposition has submitted a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan to the assembly secretariat, but they are considering bringing no-trust motions against Assembly Speaker Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, believing that both custodians of the assembly would not remain impartial during the tabling of the no-confidence motion against the premier.
