Lahore College for Women University suspends senior official over harassment allegations.
The Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has taken strict action against a senior official, suspending him from his post after a student blamed him for harassment.
This move followed a wave of protests by students on campus, who expressed their disappointment with the administration’s handling of harassment complaints.
Students gathered outside the vice chancellor’s office, demanding accountability for the male staff members allegedly involved in harassing students.

The protestors, carrying banners and placards, chanted slogans denouncing the university’s administration for not addressing the issue promptly.
The administration responded after receiving a formal complaint from one of the students, launching an inquiry into the matter and suspending the accused official to ensure transparency.
According to a university spokesperson, the suspension was necessary to allow for an impartial investigation.
Meanwhile, a special committee has been formed to investigate the harassment allegations and deliver a fair verdict.
Despite these actions, the protesting students are planning to continue their protests.
A larger protest is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
Fearing this, the university administration has announced a local holiday, citing ongoing construction work on campus.
But it is said that this move was made to manage the growing chaos among the students.
