Fazlur Rehman hopeful to oust PM with support of 172 MNAs

ISLAMABAD: PDM head Maulana Fazlur Rehman has stated that the combined Opposition’s no-trust resolution against Prime Minister Imran Khan has the backing of over 172 MNAs and that the PTI government will be deposed.

The declaration was made by the Opposition leader during a programme called Jirga.

Fazl, who is one of the three bigwig Opposition leaders and president of his own group of JUI, according to the numbers game of a no-confidence resolution.

Meanwhile, he noted, the ruling PTI’s central and provincial governments have become fragmented.

The PDM had hopeful discussions with PTI’s partners, including the PML-Q, Grand Democratic Alliance, MQM-P, and Balochistan Awami Party, according to the experienced lawmaker.

No confidence motion has been filed

The Opposition believes it has the numbers to remove Prime Minister Imran Khan via a no-trust resolution and has stated that they took the action after doing their study.

The opposition parties filed a no-trust resolution in the National Assembly Secretariat earlier this week in order to “get rid of the PTI government.”

The ruling party’s key coalition partners have not openly stated their support for the PTI, although federal ministers maintain that the PML-Q and MQM-P are on board.
