In the midst of a rapidly changing political landscape, PML-N President Mian Shehbaz Sharif has asked the Jamaat-i-Islami for help with the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In a meeting with the party’s Amir Sirajul Haq in Islamabad on Wednesday, he solicited their assistance.
After the unified Opposition presented a no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday, the meeting took place amid a frenzy of political maneuvering in Islamabad.
Shehbaz Sharif and Sirajul Haq met at Mian Aslam’s house in Islamabad.
Shehbaz Sharif, according to sources, confided in Sirajul Haq about the Opposition’s no-confidence motion against the prime minister.
Shehbaz Ahmed, the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, said after their meeting with Sirajul Haq that they would return to the public after eliminating the PTI government in a legitimate manner. He claimed that the vote of no confidence in the selected was not the result of a single person’s whim.
He claimed that Nawaz Sharif, the PML-supremo, N’s made the decisions. Shehbaz added, “We would accept whatever decision he makes.”
Despite appearing to support the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Khan, the JI Amir stated that his party sought a system change, noting that changing people was not the solution to the problem.
Sirajul Haq, speaking to the media, stated unequivocally that the government had failed completely. “The economy is in shambles, and the government is taxing every morsel of food,” he added.
The religious party’s leader claimed that changing faces would not solve the problem since the system needed to be overhauled. He believed that implementing Allah’s method would be beneficial to the country. He claimed he advised Shehbaz to consult the public and demanded that the country have transparent elections for a fresh mandate.
He hoped that the issue would be resolved by the next government, which would have a new mandate. He explained that he had told Shehbaz about his ideas and that she had agreed to some extent.
The JI leader stated that he will call a meeting of his party’s Shura to discuss Shehbaz Sharif’s suggestions.
