Russia will discharge Indians from army after PM raises it with Putin.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a two-day visit to Moscow, successfully addressed the issue of Indian nationals fighting in the Russian army with President Vladimir Putin.
According to sources, Russia has now agreed to discharge all Indians from their military service and ensure their safe return home.
The development follows the tragic deaths of at least two Indian nationals in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and claims from several others that they were deceived into enlisting.
These individuals, lured by the promise of high-paying jobs, found themselves in the war zone against their will.
During a private dinner hosted by President Putin, he congratulated PM Modi on his recent re-election for a third term and praised the growing strength of the Indian economy.

The Prime Minister seized this opportunity to bring up the plight of the Indians caught in the conflict.
Sources confirm that the Russian President agreed to facilitate the discharge and repatriation of these individuals.
Earlier this year, a video went viral showing a group of men from Punjab and Haryana, clad in army uniforms, pleading for assistance.
They claimed they were tricked into joining the war effort and urgently requested help.

The Indian government responded robustly, raising the issue with Russian authorities and initiating strong actions against the unscrupulous agents responsible.
Indian investigative agencies have since conducted raids, uncovering a trafficking ring that sent at least 35 Indians to Russia.
However, officials have yet to determine if all those sent were forced to participate in the war.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Moscow marks his first since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and includes bilateral talks with President Putin as well as attendance at the 22nd India-Russia summit.
This visit highlights Modi’s delicate balancing act of maintaining a historic relationship with Moscow while also pursuing closer security ties with Western nations.
