Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan has declared his intention to undertake a hunger strike while in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
Imran Khan expressed a lack of confidence in Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa and threatened to go on a hunger strike.
Khan voiced his concerns over the Chief Justice’s involvement in benches overseeing cases related to PTI and himself during a media interaction at the jail.
Khan’s legal team has consistently raised objections about Justice Isa’s frequent presence on these benches.
He referenced a recent ruling by a five-member bench led by Justice Gulzar, which aligned with his team’s position that the Chief Justice should stay away from their cases.
Additionally, Khan pointed to the administrative operations within the jail, noting the involvement of senior military officials.
Expressing frustration, Khan lamented the abrupt cancellation of a scheduled meeting with his legal team.
The superintendent, allegedly at the request of a jailed colonel, denied Khan’s team access, citing operational reasons.
Khan viewed this as a missed opportunity to address internal disputes.
Read para 30 and 31 of Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s wife’s letter against Imran Khan. It clearly shows bias. Since Qazi Faez Isa’s wife hates Imran Khan, Qazi stands disqualified from hearing Imran Khan and PTI’s related cases in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. pic.twitter.com/zdPg8Adfer

Imran Khan asserted the resilience of his party, stating, “They are mistaken; they think my party will weaken. They don’t realize that the party with the strongest voter base remains strong.”
He argued that the country’s issues cannot be resolved by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) alone, advocating instead for fair and transparent elections.
Khan expressed his disappointment that Pakistan, which he claimed led the region until 1990, is now lagging behind other nations.
“The country is controlled solely by the elite. What is the purpose of a president who increases the president’s house expenditures? Electricity and gas bills have broken the people’s backs.”
He recalled discussions with party members Omer Ayyub, Senate Shibli Faraz, and Ali Amin Gandapur following his National Assembly remarks on February 8th, noting that these negotiations were premised on his non-interference against powerful entities.
Khan emphasized the need for fair elections and showed a willingness to engage with Shehbaz Sharif’s government.
He accused the Election Commission of orchestrating the country’s biggest fraud, insisting, “The entire nation states that the biggest fraud occurred, yet the Chief Justice is defining the Election Commission. The Election Commission has committed the greatest fraud in the country. We are seeking justice from the Chief Justice. If investigations proceed, the Chief Election Commissioner will face Article 6.”
“I will never succumb to the tyranny of time; I am prepared to die in jail. As long as I live, I will wage this battle. I am the one who says La Ilaha Illallah. Videos of Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif, and Khawaja Asif are present here in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Urge the government to file cases against them” remarked Khan.
Criticizing Bilawal Bhutto and the Foreign Minister for not visiting Afghanistan, he emphasized the necessity of Afghan government support to secure the border.
Further adding, “Why did Bilawal Bhutto and our Foreign Minister not visit Afghanistan? Without support from the Afghan government, we cannot win this war across a 2500-kilometer-long border. During our tenure, the ATS and Ghani government collaborated. Despite this, I visited Afghanistan and held discussions.”
