Rahul Gandhi recites Durood Sharif on Holy Prophet (PBUH) in India’s Lok Sabha.

Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the Lok Sabha, invoked the Durood Sharif, a traditional Islamic blessing for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Gandhi said that the all the great leaders like Holy Prophet championed non-violence and spoke of eliminating fear and said, “do not be afraid.”

Rahul maintained that Quran also talks about fearlessness.

Gandhi slammed BJP leaders and accused them of spreading hatred, fear, and violence during his speech.

He further said that BJP and Modi want to make India a “Hindu state” and foster animosity.

Gandhi’s remarks sparked outrage within the BJP ranks, prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to assert that Gandhi had maligned the entire Hindu community by associating them with violence.

Modi also demanded an apology from Gandhi.

In his defense, Rahul Gandhi maintained that neither Narendra Modi nor the RSS embody the entirety of Hindu society.

He reiterated his accusation that the BJP perpetuates fear and incites violence and hatred.

Rahul  Gandhi is an Indian politician. A member of the Indian National Congress, he is a member of the Indian Parliament, representing the constituency of Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh since 2024 in the Lok Sabha.
