WhatsApp rolls out 32-person video call.
WhatsApp has unveiled major enhancements to its video calling capabilities, including the ability for users to watch videos together during calls and an expanded participant limit of up to 32 people across all devices.
A new feature called speaker spotlight will also now highlight the active speaker during video calls.
Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, is rolling out the Meta Low Bitrate (MLow) codec, which promises improved call reliability and double the audio quality with less computational demand.

This advanced technology, already utilized in Instagram and Messenger calls, is set to be integrated into WhatsApp in the coming weeks.
In addition, WhatsApp is developing a feature to facilitate the transfer of chat history between devices without the need for Google Drive backups, aiming to provide a more seamless and user-friendly experience.

As WhatsApp rolls out 32-person video call, previously, WhatsApp introduced a feature for Mac users that enables them to share status updates directly from their computers, similar to a feature already available on Android devices.

Now, Mac users can share images, videos, GIFs, text, and voice messages via status updates from any linked device.
The latest WhatsApp beta for Mac, version 24.11.73, available on the TestFlight app, allows beta testers to post status updates directly from the status tab on their Macs.
