CM Maryam has been asked to take notice of PTI founder’s Adiala Jail facilities.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has called on Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, to investigate the preferential treatment allegedly being given to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan, in Adiala Jail.

PPP Secretary General Nayyar Bukhari has raised concerns about the extra facilities being provided to Khan, which he claims go beyond the standard provisions outlined in the jail manual.

In a recent statement, Bukhari highlighted that Khan has access to an exercise machine and a walking track—privileges not typically afforded to other inmates.

“Is any other prisoner given such facilities?” he questioned.

Bukhari urged Maryam Nawaz to take notice of these discrepancies and ensure that the Punjab Home Ministry clarifies whether these amenities conform to the jail manual.

“Adiala Jail is under the jurisdiction of the Punjab Home Ministry, and the Chief Minister should take immediate action on this matter,” he asserted.

During a Supreme Court hearing on the NAB amendments case, the federal government presented documents and photographs detailing the conditions of Khan’s imprisonment.

The evidence revealed that the former Prime Minister enjoys several comforts, including books, an air conditioner, a television, and the ability to meet with his lawyers.
