Yasir Hussain picks Saba Qamar over wife Iqra Aziz. In a candid appearance on a private news channel’s talk show, actor-director Yasir Hussain stirred up conversation by revealing his casting choices for an upcoming film.
Given a selection of potential female leads, Hussain notably chose Saba Qamar, his co-star from his debut film “Lahore Se Aagey,” over his wife, Iqra Aziz.
Hussain’s decision shows his professional admiration for Qamar, with whom he shared the screen in his first major film. “As a lead hero, I did my first film with Saba [Lahore Se Aagey], and it was her debut as well, so I will pick her. Saba is way more talented than Esra [Bilgic],” he remarked, reflecting on their successful past collaboration.
When asked to choose between supermodel Nadia Hussain Khan and actress Nausheen Shah, Hussain opted for the latter, praising Shah as a “brilliant actor” who is “very underrated.”
He expressed his belief that Shah deserves more significant opportunities in the industry.
Hussain’s selection process involved a diverse array of talented actresses, including Dur-e-Fishan Saleem, Hania Aamir, Meera Jee, Mathira, Hareem Shah, Sonya Hussyn, Sajal Aly, and Turkish starlet Esra Bilgic.
Despite this wide pool, he remained consistent in his choice of Qamar. Even when asked to choose between Qamar and his real-life partner, Iqra Aziz, Hussain maintained his preference for his former co-star, emphasizing his professional criteria over personal relationships.
As Yasir Hussain picks Saba Qamar over wife Iqra Aziz, Hussain also mentioned his interest in having politician Marriyum Aurangzeb produce the film, indicating his desire for robust financial backing and support for the project.
