Iran imposes sanctions on US and UK over Israel support.
Iran has announced punitive measures targeting several American and British individuals and entities for their alleged support of Israel during the recent conflict in Gaza.
The sanctions were unveiled in a statement from Iran’s foreign ministry, signaling a significant escalation in tensions between Tehran and Western powers.
Among the individuals targeted by Iran are General Bryan P. Fenton, commander of the US special operations command, and Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, a former commander of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.
Additionally, British officials and entities such as Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps and commander of the British army strategic command James Hockenhull have been singled out.

Furthermore, Iran has imposed penalties on prominent US firms Lockheed Martin and Chevron, as well as British counterparts Elbit Systems, Parker Meggitt, and Rafael UK.
The sanctions include measures such as the blocking of accounts and transactions in Iranian financial and banking systems, asset freezes within Iran’s jurisdiction, and the prohibition of visa issuance and entry into Iranian territory for the affected individuals.
The announcement comes amidst ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hamas, the militant group controlling the Gaza Strip.

The conflict escalated following an attack by Palestinian militants on Israel on October 7, resulting in significant casualties.
While Iran has voiced support for Hamas, it denies direct involvement in the attack that sparked the conflict.
As Iran imposes sanctions on US and UK over Israel support, the Palestine-Israel conflict has claimed the lives of 1,170 people, while Gaza’s health ministry reports a death toll of at least 34,568, with the majority being women and children.
