The decision comes approximately one and a half years after the company halted services in five major cities across the nation, including Karachi and Islamabad.

Uber’s abrupt withdrawal from Lahore was communicated to its customer base via email.

The email, sent out to subscribers, informed them of the company’s sudden decision without divulging any specific reasons behind the move.

Despite the lack of clarity surrounding Uber’s departure, the company is offering a form of compensation to its loyal customers.

In an effort to ease the transition, Uber has provided a discount code for Careem, its subsidiary brand.

Customers can utilize the code “LHR50” to avail a generous 50% discount on their next five rides with Careem.

Uber’s Email to Lahore Customers:

The email dispatched to Uber’s customer base in Lahore delivered the disheartening news while also offering reassurance of continued ride-hailing services through Careem.

It read, “We’ve made the difficult decision to no longer offer the Uber app services in Lahore as of April 30, 2024. Ride-hailing services will continue to be offered through our subsidiary brand Careem, and you will have the option to sign up and request a trip on Careem to have a seamless experience.”
