Iranian President Raisi lands in Pakistan on three-day official visit.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Pakistan on Monday, commencing a significant 3-day official visit alongside a distinguished delegation.
The President and his entourage were warmly received by Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada, along with senior civil and military officials.
First Head of State Visit Post-Elections:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) highlighted the historical context of President Raisi‘s visit, marking the first trip by a Head of State to Pakistan following the general elections held in February 2024.
Extensive Delegation and Agendas:
President Raisi is accompanied by his spouse and a prominent delegation, including the Foreign Minister, cabinet members, senior officials, and a substantial business contingent.
The visit is set to feature a series of high-profile meetings, reflecting the depth of bilateral engagement.
Key Meetings Planned:
During his stay, President Raisi is scheduled to engage with President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairman of the Senate, and the Speaker of the National Assembly.
Additionally, he will travel to Lahore to interact with provincial leadership including Governor Balighur Rehman and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
He is also scheduled to visit the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal.
Later, the Iranian leader will travel to Karachi where his meetings are scheduled with Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
Raisi will also visit Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi and pay his respects to the founder of Pakistan.
Strengthening Bilateral Ties:
The primary agenda of the visit is to enhance the multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and Iran, focusing on trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, and people-to-people connections.
Discussions will extend to regional and global developments, with a shared commitment to combatting terrorism.

The Foreign Office emphasized the enduring significance of the visit in bolstering the longstanding bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran, which are deeply rooted in shared history, culture, and religious ties.
