The Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) responded by withdrawing her Unduk Ngadau Johor title, asserting that her actions would have gone unnoticed if she were an ordinary individual.

President Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan explained that the incident occurred during a private holiday with her family, suggesting that people sometimes act impulsively while on vacation.
He emphasized that the association did not wish for undue attention to be brought upon them.
“We were made to understand that she went on a private holiday with her family to Thailand. We do silly things and get carried away when holidaying,” he said. “If the video did not go viral, no one would know it happened.”
