Arshad Warsi, renowned for his remarkable performances, notably as Circuit in the Munna Bhai MBBS franchise, recently offered insights into his iconic role.
Arshad Warsi disclosed that his portrayal of Circuit resonated strongly with audiences, and it was a risk that paid off, largely due to the creative freedom granted by director Rajkumar Hirani.
In his conversation on Long Drive with Mr Faisu, Arshad delved into how the character of Circuit might have evolved differently if not for the trust and artistic liberty provided by Hirani.
“Tum dekho, woh role kya tha? Villain ke peeche chaar paanch lukhhe khade hote hai na, un mese mai ek tha. You tell me how many actors like those four guys do you remember?” he said.

When asked about Circuit being a turning point in his career, Arshad acknowledged the role’s significance and said, “It was a risk that I took. It was my destiny that I had Raju with me as a director and Sanju as my co-actor. Vidhu Vinod Chopra had clearly told me that I would be one of the four goons with slightly extra lines. He was very honest. I knew that Sanju was a very secure actor. He was never insecure and Raju had given me that freedom.”
Arshad also shared heartfelt feelings about his bond with Sanjay Dutt, praising him as a great person and expressing admiration for his strength and kindness.
“He is a great person. Very sweet. I find him very strong. He has gone through a lot of things. He is a very loving person. I get random messages from him. He sends ‘Bro, I miss you’ or he calls and says, ‘Bro I am in Africa, do you want anything?’” he said.
Arshad recently celebrated his 25th marriage anniversary with his wife, Maria Goretti, on Valentine’s Day.
He also served as one of the judges on the TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, alongside Farah Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
