PTI issues notice to Sher Afzal Marwat over remarks against Barrister Gohar. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken disciplinary action against newly-elected National Assembly member Sher Afzal Marwat following his controversial remarks directed at party leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
Marwat’s comments, suggesting Khan’s removal from the PTI chairmanship due to alleged poor performance, have ignited internal tensions within the party.
In response, PTI has issued a formal show-cause notice to Marwat, demanding an apology within a two-day timeframe.
The notice warns of potential disciplinary measures should Marwat fail to comply with party directives.

The development comes amidst PTI’s announcement of forthcoming intra-party elections scheduled for March 3.
This decision follows the recent loss of the party’s longstanding electoral symbol, the bat.
Nomination procedures for the elections will take place on February 23 and 24, with candidate scrutiny on February 25 and final decisions on candidacy by February 27.
Polling is slated to occur on March 3, with voting stations established at PTI’s Central Office and provincial secretariats.
As PTI issues notice to Sher Afzal Marwat over remarks against Barrister Gohar, these developments occur amid ongoing consultations with PTI’s incarcerated leader, Imran Khan, who has been detained since August of the previous year.
Sher Afzal Khan Marwat is a Pakistani politician and lawyer who is currently representing several Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf politicians, including former chairman Imran Khan. He is also the current Senior Vice President of PTI.
