New school timings have been implemented across Punjab by the Education Department. The Education Department in Punjab has rolled out new timings for both public and private schools across the province.
Effective from February 1 until April 15, these timings aim to streamline school schedules and optimize educational routines.
As per an official notification, boys’ schools will now commence classes at 8:30 am and conclude at 2:30 pm.
Similarly, girls’ schools will operate from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm on weekdays.

Notably, boys’ schools will have an earlier closure at 12:15 pm, while girls’ schools at 12 noon.
For schools operating in two shifts, the schedule will bifurcate accordingly. The first shift will run from 8 am to 12:15 pm, with the second shift commencing at 12:30 pm and concluding at 5 pm.
This move follows an earlier decision in January by the Punjab Education Department to extend the previously notified school timings for the winter season until January 31, 2024.
This extension was made in light of prevailing weather conditions to ensure the well-being of students and faculty.
These adjustments in school timings reflect the department’s commitment to enhancing educational standards and optimizing learning environments for students across Punjab.
As new school timings have been implemented across Punjab by Education Department, Parents, students, and educators are encouraged to adhere to the revised schedule to ensure a smooth transition and maximize educational outcomes.
