Pakistan confirms to Moscow it’s not supplying arms to Ukraine via third party.
In a recent press briefing held in Islamabad, Albert Khorev, Russia’s ambassador to Pakistan, addressed various facets of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, shedding light on Moscow‘s perspective and its relationship with Islamabad.
Khorev commenced by addressing reports alleging the transfer of Pakistani arms to Ukraine via a third-party intermediary.
He emphasized that these claims remain unverified and reassured that Pakistan has pledged not to engage in such actions.
Additionally, Khorev expressed Russia’s desire for Pakistan to maintain its current stance on the conflict, insinuating potential discomfort in the West regarding the burgeoning ties between Pakistan and Russia.
Delving into the heart of the conflict, Khorev underscored Russia’s endeavors to foster consensus, juxtaposed against Ukraine’s imposition of restrictions on bilateral consultations.

He cautioned that without a sincere commitment from Ukraine and the removal of said restrictions, a resolution to the conflict would prove elusive.
Khorev also drew attention to alleged covert activities involving the US military in Ukraine, calling for a thorough investigation into these claims. He urged the media to adopt an impartial approach in reporting on the conflict.
Reflecting on the sequence of events leading to the conflict’s escalation, Khorev cited the involvement of extremist elements in Ukraine and criticized what he perceived as Western support for actions destabilizing the region.
He referenced a 2014 agreement between the Ukrainian president and opposition leaders aimed at resolving political crises, which was disregarded by the opposition, exacerbating tensions.
Furthermore, Khorev alluded to the temporal coincidence of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine with the visit of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, though he characterized Khan’s subsequent removal from office as an internal matter for Pakistan.
As Pakistan confirms to Moscow its not supplying arms to Ukraine via third party, Khorev’s statements elucidate Russia‘s stance on the conflict and its engagement with Pakistan amidst the prevailing tensions, providing insights into the dynamics shaping the region’s geopolitical landscape.
