MQM-P demands Sindh governor post for alliance with PML-N. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has outlined a series of demands to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as part of negotiations for a potential alliance to establish governance at the federal level.

Reports suggest that the demands put forth by MQM-P primarily focus on legislative and political considerations, reflecting the intensified efforts of the PML-N, led by Nawaz Sharif, to build coalitions and consolidate power.

Among the demands disclosed, MQM-P is said to have sought the appointment of the Sindh governorship and the allocation of three ministerial positions should the PML-N succeed in reclaiming authority.

Furthermore, the party advocates for a direct allocation of funds earmarked for provinces under the National Finance Commission (NFC) award to local governments, stressing the need for corresponding legislative measures.

Responding to these demands, the PML-N has indicated that a decision will be reached following consultations with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), underscoring the significance of inter-party dialogues in shaping the political landscape.

As MQM-P demands Sindh governor post for alliance with PML-N, it is noteworthy that the PML-N, positioning itself as the largest political entity post-elections, had previously expressed its intent to forge a federal government in collaboration with the PPP, highlighting the fluid nature of political alliances in Pakistan’s evolving political climate.
