ECP announces final results. The Election Commission of Pakistan has unveiled the comprehensive results of the nation’s General Election 2024, igniting a firestorm of controversy amid allegations of irregularities, mismanagement, and rigging.
In a significant development, independent candidates supported by the PTI have seized a considerable share of the electoral pie, securing a whopping 101 seats.
The PML-N emerges as the principal contender with 75 seats, closely trailed by the PPP, which has garnered 54 seats.
Notably, the margin between PTI-backed candidates and those supported by the PML-N and PPP has significantly dwindled as the final results unfolded after 65 hours of intensive polling.

Additionally, MQM-Pakistan has made a noteworthy showing by clinching 17 NA seats, predominantly from Karachi and other key regions of Sindh.
Meanwhile, Fazl’s JUI-F has managed to secure four seats, while Ch. Shujaat’s PML-Q has secured at least three seats in the parliamentary race.
The announcement of the election results has sparked widespread protests across Pakistan, with several political parties vehemently rejecting the outcomes and alleging widespread malpractices. PPP, JUI-F, and BAP have spearheaded sit-ins, clamoring for recounts and challenging the legitimacy of the declared results.
In Karachi, the political landscape has witnessed fervent demonstrations, with Jamaat-e-Islami, JUI, and PTI staging protests outside the Election Commission office, further intensifying the post-election turbulence in the country.
