Aleem Khan breaks silence on IPP seat adjustment with PML-N. Pakistan is on the brink of significant political developments as it prepares for general elections scheduled for February next year.
The country has been navigating a tumultuous political landscape since the removal of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and now, political heavyweights are actively formulating strategies to outmaneuver their rivals.
In recent political meetings, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), led by Nawaz Sharif, and the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) engaged in discussions regarding potential seat adjustments. Jahangir Tareen, a key figure in the political arena, presented a list of constituencies in Punjab where both parties could collaborate to secure votes.

However, Aleem, the president of the IPP, dismissed speculations about seat adjustments with PML-N, clarifying that the party’s Central Executive Committee is yet to reach a decision, with key members slated to determine the course of action in the near future.
While Aleem acknowledged the acceptability of alliances in contemporary politics, he emphasized the importance of avoiding the transformation of political disagreements into personal conflicts.
Addressing the prospect of seat adjustments with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Aleem revealed that formal contacts on the matter have not been initiated between the two sides.
In a critical assessment of Imran Khan’s leadership, Aleem accused the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of using his tenure to send political opponents to jail, asserting that PTI’s governance had detrimentally impacted the country. Aleem further advocated for Imran Khan to face the legal cases against him.
Shifting focus to the recently appointed PTI chief, Barrister Gohar, Aleem clarified that he had not personally met him. He pointed out Gohar’s prior affiliation with the PPP, emphasizing his own lack of connections with the PPP.
As Aleem Khan breaks silence on IPP seat adjustment with PML-N, these developments underscore the intricate negotiations and strategic considerations taking place among key political players in the lead-up to the forthcoming general elections.
