Punjab starts crackdown on non-certified persons administrating beauty injections. In a decisive move, the Punjab government has launched a targeted crackdown against unregistered individuals administering beauty injections in the province, a practice that has been linked to the emergence of various skin diseases.

Dr. Jamal Nasir, the Caretaker Health Minister, made this announcement during a conference addressing secretaries from Punjab District Drugs Quality Control Boards.

During his address, Dr. Nasir underscored the need for stringent action against those exploiting the beauty treatment sector to spread diseases.

Proposing a comprehensive assessment of the legal status of all beauty parlors in Punjab, he revealed plans to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for these establishments in collaboration with the Healthcare Commission.

A pivotal aspect of the crackdown involves a ban on all unregistered beauty creams and related products.

Dr. Nasir urged the public to exclusively utilize products approved by the Drug Regulatory Authority, cautioning against the health risks associated with substandard and unregistered beauty creams, which have been implicated in serious illnesses, including cancer.

The Health Minister emphasized the critical importance of limiting the administration of beauty injections to qualified skincare specialists and surgeons.

This move reflects a commitment to safeguard public health and ensure that beauty treatments adhere to established standards and regulations.

As Punjab starts crackdown on non-certified persons administrating beauty injections, the government aims to curb the proliferation of unregulated beauty practices, protect consumers from potential health hazards, and elevate the overall quality and safety standards within the beauty industry in Punjab.
