The development was disclosed by Muhammad Khalid Jamali, Pakistan’s envoy to Moscow, who highlighted that Islamabad has officially applied for BRICS membership and is relying on Russia’s assistance to navigate the admission process.
Speaking to the Russian news agency TASS, Jamali, who is yet to present his credentials to President Vladimir Putin, conveyed that Pakistan’s aspirations align with the anticipated expansion of BRICS, set to include six new members in the coming year.
