DUBAI: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the administration is working to improve consular services at Pakistan’s foreign missions to help Pakistanis living abroad.
The foreign minister told the Pakistani diaspora in Dubai on Thursday that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s objective is to provide all available facilities to Pakistani citizens living overseas.
The country’s top envoy also stated that power of attorney verification for Pakistanis living abroad has been digitised, and that obstacles to getting succession certificates have been addressed.
Overseas Pakistanis have praised the Roshan Digital Account and Naya Pakistan Certificate schemes, according to Qureshi.
“The existing government is also dedicated to allowing abroad Pakistanis to vote, which will have a long-term impact,” the minister continued.
The news follows Prime Minister Imran Khan’s meeting on Roshan Digital Accounts in Islamabad on February 12, during which he declared that the government was taking unprecedented steps to help Pakistanis living abroad.
The Prime Minister stated that the administration seeks to speed measures such as granting abroad Pakistanis voting rights and online issue of the power of attorney and inheritance certificates. These initiatives are said to have a wide-ranging impact on expatriate welfare and convenience.
