The Last Stand

Witnessing the downfall of Britain and Russia after a horrifying war, Afghanistan is splendidly called the graveyard of superpowers and the history repeated itself in the form of US withdrawal from Afghanistan in a shameful manner. Fighting so many wars has turned the country itself into a graveyard. The population of 37.30 Million people is on verge of staving and millions of children are in the menace of dying due to harsh winter conditions.

The takeover of the Taliban in Afghanistan has separated the Afghan people from the world as no humanitarian organization is ready to help them fearing American wrath. The outfall of the US has made them mad and 79 years old President Joe Biden has signed an executive order to allocate the money of $3.5 billion out of $7 Billion frozen assets of innocent Afghan citizens. The condition after this has become rampant as the last ray of hope to improve their livelihood is now lost. The hard-earned money of Afghan will be allocated to the victims of 9/11. Yes, you heard it right. To put it in this way that in the 9/11 attack none of the 19 militants were of Afghan nationality but now their money is given to the families of 9/11 victims to compensate them but the reality is that it is actually to hide US own failure. The US has embezzled their rights and no one is there to stand for them.

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on World Bank to release the amount of $1.2 Billion to ease the humanitarian crisis and bring back afghan citizens to life but again the crocodile instead of acting has seized assets and to add insult to injury further decided to distribute their money. After the Taliban takeover almost all the emergency aid has been stopped for Afghanistan. These egoistic steps will further worsen the situation and it’s a threat to regional security. The world is already in a tense situation in issues regarding Ukraine and Taiwan and the troops are deployed on borders. The US is creating another calamity that can be solved easily through diplomacy. The Afghans were once the citizens of their country and now a refugee and it won’t be far when a citizen (YOU) of a respective today will be a refugee of tomorrow, So raise your vice before it’s too late and help all those in need and understand the seriousness of the issue. Don’t be Donald Trump who once said it’s a blip, not a catastrophe.
