Nawaz Sharif pledges relief, not revenge, in return from exile. After spending four years in self-imposed exile in London, the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan on Saturday afternoon from Dubai and told his supporters that his sole concern was for the welfare of the Pakistani people.

On Saturday night, Sharif said he wanted to serve the country and that Pakistan needed to advance at twice the rate. He was speaking to a large crowd at Minar-e-Pakistan.

He claimed that despite working day and night to address Pakistan’s issues, he and his family members were accused of crimes and put behind bars.

He said that by lowering the power tariff, he gave residents some relief during the 18-hour power outage. He claimed that some wounds never fully heal; for example, his mother died while he was in exile and his wife died while he was in prison.

State institutions, political parties, and other pillars of the state must cooperate, according to Sharif. Based on his 40 years of expertise, he claimed that Pakistan cannot advance until all stakeholders come together to work towards the same goals.

According to him, all parties involved must cooperate in order to move Pakistan forward and treat the disease that keeps the system from functioning properly.

He pleaded with his supporters to stop anyone from ever again interfering with Pakistan’s future.

As Nawaz Sharif pledges relief, not revenge, in return from exile, he claimed that he was extremely patient today and avoided saying anything inappropriate.

He demanded that the world find a resolution to the Palestine crisis and denounced Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.

By fighting with its neighbours, Sharif claimed, Pakistan could not advance. According to him, Pakistan must approach the Kashmir issue strategically going forward.

The former three-time prime minister left Islamabad and arrived at the airport in Lahore. In order to get to the location, he boarded a helicopter with the help of former finance minister Ishaq Dar, former law minister Azam Nazir Tarar, and others.
