Babar Azam regains No 1 spot in latest ODI rankings. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has retained his top spot in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) new ODI batting rankings.

He has increased his rating to 836 points and increased his lead in the rankings to 18 points. Shubman Gill of India remained in second place after overcoming illness to start his Cricket World Cup campaign with 12 runs against Pakistan.

As Babar Azam regains No 1 spot in latest ODI rankings, following a devastating spell against Bangladesh, New Zealand bowler Trent Boult is closing in on the top spot in the ODI Bowling Rankings.

Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma, and Trent Boult have all risen to the top of the Men’s ODI Player Rankings in the most recent update, according to an ICC blog.

Devastating performances by South Africa opener de Kock and India skipper Rohit at the World Cup 2023 have catapulted the two higher in the ODI batting rankings.

De Kock opened the competition with back-to-back tones but missed an opportunity to get even closer to the top rank when he got dismissed for 20 and sparked a match-changing South African batting collapse of 4/8 against the Netherlands.

In spite of this, the South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman has moved up three spots to third in the ODI batting rankings, passing colleague Rassie van der Dussen, who is currently in fourth.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the Afghan debutant, rose 19 spots to 18th.
