PML-N offers ‘Jannat Ka Ticket’ for welcoming homecoming Nawaz Sharif. Politicians in Pakistan are infamous for their overused catchphrases, but as the level of competition rises, different leaders from all backgrounds are developing their own catchphrases and even carving out careers as gimmickry artists.
The PML-N is mobilising its followers to be ready for Nawaz Sharif’s return, and in an effort to win over the populace, the former ruling party has proposed a novel plan for those who would be showing up at Lahore Airport to welcome the ousted premier.
The former lawmaker Chaudhry Asad ur Rehman promises heavenly rewards to those who would be welcoming Mian Nawaz Sharif on October 21 in a video footage from the PML-N’s corner meeting in the Toba Tek Singh district that is doing the rounds online.
Chaudhry can be heard saying ‘Thos who would go to Minar-e-Pakistan to welcome Nawaz Sharif will go to Jannat as angels will be forming special list’.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had previously pledged a Honda 125 for supporters who brought a large crowd to welcome party leader Nawaz Sharif. With plans for the return of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif well under way, the PML-N began a series of rallies from the provincial capital Lahore.
After spending four years in Britain for medical care while serving a sentence for corruption, Sharif, 73, is scheduled to return to his native country. Additionally, his party appears to be under pressure to win over the masses in advance of his homecoming.
