LHC orders Rs2,000 fine over helmet violation in Punjab. The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday ordered the traffic authorities to charge motorbike riders who disobey the helmet laws in Punjab with a heavy fine of Rs2,000.
In response to public petitions requesting actions to reduce smog in the province, the high court issued the decision.
The judge ruled that parking a car in a greenbelt area will result in a Rs. 5,000 fine. He gave the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) the order to take action against those responsible for such violations.
The brick kilns responsible for spreading pollutants in the city were also ordered to be closed by the court.
As LHC orders Rs2,000 fine over helmet violation in Punjab, additionally, he directed the filing of criminal charges against any officers who failed to follow court orders.

The Lahore High Court has jurisdiction over the province of Punjab. The High Court’s principal seat is in Lahore, but there are benches in three other cities of the province: Rawalpindi, Multan and Bahawalpur. A proposal was sent by lawyers to set up new high court benches in Faisalabad, Sialkot, D.G. Khan and Gujranwala divisions but full court of Lahore High Court turned down this request.
