Babar Azam plays cover drives like he was born into it, which makes watching him play nothing less than joy. With all the praise, Pakistan’s all-format captain cemented his position as the sport’s best batsman thanks to his graceful batting style.
The right-handed batter has a strong defence and is at ease taking on both pace and spin bowlers, but he is unable to win over former star bowler Mohammad Asif, who is still renowned for his magical spells despite having been found guilty of conspiring to defraud casinos and conspiring to accept bribes.

Asif made shocking revelations prior to the World Cup, claiming that he chose Babar Azam after trials.
Calling Babar one of the finest batters, Asif said he plays dots in the power-play and puts pressure on Rizwan. “I can bowl a maiden over to Babar Azam in T20 cricket even today, and he cannot hit the ball if you bowl good deliveries to him,” he said.

As Asif’s comments gained attention, Azam Siddiqui, the captain’s father, commented on the matter and shared memories of his son’s early cricket career on his Instagram account.
He claimed that following his match-fixing controversy at the time, Asif was making desperate attempts to make a comeback.
Azam Siddiqui reported that despite his son scoring 84 runs, Asif was able to get him dismissed. After being dismissed, his son bemoaned Asif’s behaviour towards him and his use of abusive words.
“Dear Mohammad Asif, every person bears responsibility for their own deeds. Should the occasion arise, Babar is ready to play a maiden over to demonstrate his respect for you,” Azam said, urging the fans not to make any more fuss about this matter.
