Solar panels theft on the rise in Pindi Bhattian

Pindi Bhattian: Solar panels are a valuable asset for homeowners who want to save on electricity bills and avoid load shedding. But they also attract the attention of thieves who can make a quick buck by stealing them.

Incidents of agricultural motors and expensive solar panels started to happen. Last night also, the solar plates of farmer Mehdi Hasan worth 6 lakhs of rupees were taken off by unknown thieves near Khoh Tarkhanan.

The theft of agricultural motors and valuable solar plates has become a routine, due to which the citizens are forced to stay awake at night to protect the valuables while the police has completely failed in preventing incidents.

The victims have alleged that even the cases of theft of valuable goods are not registered. This is because the police palms get greased from the thieves which helps increase the number of incidents instead of reducing them.

Police should have their finger on the pulse by performing duties proactively. The citizens demand from the higher authorities of the police to make concerted effort to prevent incidents and to redress the victims.

A solar panel is a device that uses photovoltaic (PV) cells to transform sunlight into electricity. Materials used to create PV cells produce electrons when exposed to light. Direct current (DC) electricity is created when electrons go through a circuit; this electricity can power various devices or be stored in batteries. PV modules, solar electric panels, and solar cell panels are further names for solar panels.
