17-year-old Nepali breaks Shehroze Kashif’s record to climb K-2.
Nima Rinji Sherpa of Nepal became the youngest alpinist to summit one of the world’s highest peaks, breaking the record of Pakistan’s young top mountaineer Shehroze Kashif.
Sherpas successfully ascended K-2, the world’s second-highest summit. The 17-year-old Nepalese mountaineer ascended 8611 meters, marking him the world’s youngest alpinist.
As 17-year-old Nepali breaks Shehroze Kashif’s record to climb K-2, Kashif had previously climbed Dhaulagiri’s peak at 8,167 meters above sea level at the age of 19.
Kashif was the youngest Pakistani mountaineer to have climbed all 12 of the world’s highest peaks.

Shehroze began his adventure when he first summited Mansehra’s Makra Peak (3,885 m) at the age of 11.
An avid alpinist, Sherpa is the youngest person to climb Everest and Lhotse in one attempt, and also climbed Nanga Parbat (8126m), and Manaslu -8163m.
Shehroze Kashif is a Pakistani mountaineer who became the youngest climber in the world to summit K2 on 27 July 2021.
He became the youngest Pakistani to summit Mount Everest on 11 May 2021. After the successful summit of Mount Everest, Sports Board Punjab made him the youth ambassador of Punjab, Pakistan.
