A man who pretended to be dead for 321 days gets an acting role on CSI. A man who faked his death on social media in order to land an acting role on CSI: Vegas is currently looking for his next project after making an appearance as a dead body in the procedural cop drama’s second season.
Josh Nalley, a content creator from Kentucky, set out on a journey, promising to post a video of himself acting dead every day until he was cast as a dead body on CSI.
In the end, he pretended to be a dead body for 321 days, becoming famous online in the process.
Producers of the show eventually got in touch with him and offered him the role of a dead body on the programme.

Josh said: “I got an email from CBS that said they’d seen me on TikTok and wanted to offer me the part. At first, I didn’t believe it, but they flew me out to California.
“It turned out that Mario Van Peebles was the director for that episode so besides getting cast in the show, I also got to meet him, which was great.”
Speaking to the Courier-Journal, he explained that his determination won out over his complete lack of acting experience.
He said: “I don’t like speaking on camera, but I can lie there and act like I am dead pretty easily.
“Having done more than 300 of these posts, I have progressed and gotten better. At first, you could see me breathing, or the fake blood looked really bad.
“I have gotten rid of using the blood and gotten better at holding my breath.”
But after appearing as a body on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 6, which aired on November 3, 2022, he was left hungry for more roles.
Almost straight away Josh was back on TikTok pretending to be “un-alive” as he calls it.
Josh recently posted: “Day 209 of playing un-alive until I’m cast as an un-alive body in another TV show or movie.”
The text was published with a video of Josh acting lifeless in the woods.
He makes several different appearances in the videos, frequently in amusing circumstances.
The fictional detectives were called to Dario, a high-end casino’s flagship steakhouse, to look into the murder of their celebrity chef, Dario, in Mr. Nalley’s CSI: Vegas episode.
He has previously asserted that the inspiration for the idea came from witnessing a woman post about hot sauce and receive numerous offers from merchants.
He unintentionally ruined a take while on the set of the CSI episode when a telemarketer called and his phone rang.
Despite his internet fame, he has no intention of leaving his day job as a restaurant manager.
