Justice Isa refuses to shake hands with CJP Bandial. A video exposing animosity between two Supreme Court justices went viral on social media on Thursday.
The video, which depicted an awkward encounter between Supreme Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Senior Puisne Judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa, sparked heated debate in the country on Thursday.
On Thursday, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman was sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court in the Supreme Court building. Justice Bandial accompanied Justice Rahman to the podium and administered the oath in his official robe. The cameras for the TV coverage stopped rolling at that point.
However, not all cameras were turned off. Adeel Sarfaraz, a court reporter, created the video that you’ve probably seen on social media by now. As the ceremony came to a close it showed the junior judge interacting with the audience.
However, as Justice Bandial approached, Justice Isa appeared to pause for a moment before abandoning his conversation partner to the CJP and joining another group.
There was no interaction or pleasantries exchanged. There was no conversation between them either before or after the video was recorded.

#Justice #Bandial is moving back and forth with Justice Faiz Isa. But Faiz Isa is no longer watching them, when he retires, he will feel more lonely than Saqib Nisar, Asif Saeed Khosa and Gulzar Ahmed.#SupremeCourtOfPakistan pic.twitter.com/awufFSad4j
