Heavy rainfall expected in Sindh, PDMA issues alert

NDMA issues warnings of flash flooding in central northern areas. Regarding the potential effects of light to moderate rainfall in the country’s central and northern areas, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning.

The NDMA warned that isolated hailstorms and heavy rain showers were possible in several regions. Additionally, the NDMA has recognized possible dangers from landslides in mountainous areas, flash flooding, and hill torrents in vulnerable locations as a result of rain.

In addition, hailstorms may harm vegetation, crops, and other property. People in sensitive places, such as hilly terrain, have been cautioned by the NDMA to exercise additional caution.

In order to reduce potential damage, the authority has also advised individuals to keep up with the most recent meteorological information and heed advisories issued by the Provincial authorities. The NDMA further stated that in case of an emergency, people should contact the appropriate authorities for prompt help.

As NDMA issues warnings of flash flooding in central northern areas, it reaffirmed its dedication to protecting the safety and welfare of people across the nation. The NDMA will continue to keep an eye on the weather situation as it changes and will issue pertinent advisories as needed.

The National Disaster Management Authority is an autonomous and constitutionally established federal authority mandated to deal with the whole spectrum of disasters and their management in the country.

The NDMA formulates and enforces national disaster policies at federal and provisional levels and collaborates closely with various government ministries, military forces, and United Nations-based organizations to jointly coordinate efforts to conduct its disaster management, search and rescue, and wide range of humanitarian operations in the country and abroad.
