Imran Riaz Khan not in custody of ISI and MI, LHC told

Journalist Imran Riaz Khan arrested at Sialkot Airport

It has been told to the Lahore High Court that Imran Riaz Khan is not in the custody of ISI and MI. Almost a week after his arrest, Pakistani journalist and political analyst Imran Riaz Khan’s whereabouts are unknown, and neither his family nor the police claim to know where the TV host is.

The country’s top spy agencies, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) have clarified that Imran Riaz is not in their custody, according to Lahore police Deputy Inspector General (Investigation) Kamran Adil, who testified before the high court today.

The DIG stated that Imran Riaz is not in their custody, while Imran’s father told the court that his son was abducted for posting a vlog critical of the county’s influential section. The hearing was later called off.

Despite the continuous assault on dissenting voices, Imran Riaz, an ardent supporter of Imran Khan’s party, has gone missing since a short video of him being escorted out of Sialkot International Airport by authorities surfaced.

Imran Riaz Khan is not in the custody of ISI and MI. The family of an outspoken journalist, dubbed a political spokesman by the Information Minister, recently petitioned the Lahore High Court for his recovery.

Previously, the LHC ordered the attorney general to bring the TV show host before the court on the same day. However, he was never produced in court, and the deadline expired. Last Monday, a case was filed at Civil Lines police station on the allegation of Imran’s father against unidentified persons for kidnapping and forcibly detaining him.

In the previous hearing, Punjab IGP Dr. Usman Anwar apprised the court that Imran was not in police custody.
