QUETTA – A video of the suicide attack on a convoy of JI’s chief Sirajul Haq has surfaced online.
The JI chief was on his way to Zhob in Balochistan from Quetta when he was attacked, but he narrowly escaped the incident, which injured five other persons.
The incident was captured on camera as a gathering of people welcomed Sirajul Haq’s motorcade on a road before the suicide bomber blew himself up.
The attacker’s body may be seen lying on the road, despite the fact that the suicide jacket did not totally explode.

Following the attack, rally participants can be seen rushing away from the road. According to reports, injured people have been transported to hospitals for treatment.
Meanwhile, the event has been investigated by police. It is unclear whether the JI leader will attend the scheduled public gathering.
Siraj ul Haq born 5 September 1962 is a Pakistani politician who was elected as the chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, a religious political party in Pakistan that seeks to establish an Islamic legal system. He also served as the senior minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the Pervez Khattak administration.
He was elected to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in the 2002 election from the platform of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and was made finance minister in the provincial cabinet under the leadership of Akram Khan Durrani.
