A Dutch man was discovered keeping his father’s body in a freezer for over a year after his death.
When a family doctor expressed concerns about the father’s health, he made the stunning discovery.
The father’s body was apparently found by the police in the Dutch town of Landgraaf.
According to the 82-year-old son, who has not been identified by the authorities, he “did not want to let him go, or I would miss him.”
Dutch man keeps father’s body in freezer to ‘talk to him’. After the old man passed away, his body was preserved at home in a freezer for almost 18 months.
The son claimed that after his father passed away naturally, he still wished to communicate with him.
“I didn’t want [my father] to pass away. Otherwise, I’d miss him,” the elderly man admitted to 1Limburg.
The son is allegedly currently under investigation for concealing his father’s remains, but the police told 1Limburg that they had no reason to believe that any wrongdoing occurred.
The elderly man’s cause of death and the exact hour of his passing are being sought after by the investigators.
Additionally, officials have instructed the son to tidy up the family’s house after discovering it to be a “mess” during their visit. The youngster will thereafter be assessed to see whether or not he can live alone.
