The audio, video, and encrypted direct messaging features will be added to the app that was previously used to share tweets online by the microblogging service Twitter.

Elon Musk, a tech enthusiast and the owner of Twitter, revealed information about new features that will challenge social media app rivals. According to him, users will be able to access features like encrypted direct messages, long-form tweets, and payments through “Twitter 2.0 The Everything App.”

In a recent tweet, Musk said ‘Coming soon will be voice and video chat from your handle to anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number.’

Twitter is all set to allow users to make audio-video calls in the new update.

The most popular features will align Twitter with Discord, Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, and other platforms that are already dealing with privacy-related issues.

The Tesla CEO has recently raised concern by claiming that WhatsApp is unsafe. In response to a post from a user who claimed that “WhatsApp has been using the microphone in the background, while he was sleeping,” he declared that the app cannot be trusted.

While the app has a few security and privacy risks, the instant messaging service is renowned for its end-to-end encryption software, which ensures the protection of your message.
