Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s rendition of Ali Zafar’s iconic song “Channo” has once again grabbed the internet by storm.

Khan, who lives in London, performed his version of the song, which not only drew a lot of attention on social media but also caused Ali Zafar to respond.

The video starts with the London-based singer greeting Zafar and then he starts singing with a little twist in the lyrics.

Not only that, but Chahat Fateh Ali Khan also invited Ali Zafar to his house in London. “I will visit your house whenever I come to Lahore. I love you,” he added.

In a tweet, the 42-year-old musician said, “YaAllah Khair,” while uploading a video of Chahat singing “Channo.” Chahat begins the video by greeting Zafar, and then he begins singing with a slight variation in the words. Fans and music enthusiasts have reacted differently to the video.

But Chahat’s talent isn’t limited to just one song. He has performed covers of Kaifi Khalil’s “Kahani Suno 2.0” and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) anthem. His unique touch on these popular songs has once again piqued the interest of music fans.

Who is Chahat Fateh Ali Khan?

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s name must not be confused with the names of legendary Pakistani singers Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan or Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. His real name is Kashif Rana and the 56-year-old self-proclaimed singer, songwriter, and composer is a minicab driver from London.

In 1966, he was born in Lahore. Although there is little information about his family, available data indicates that he is married.

Chahat became an instant social media phenomenon in Pakistan after his anthem for the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL8) went viral earlier this year.
