Satish Kaushik died before reaching hospital. Satish Kaushik, an actor-director, was at a farmhouse in Delhi’s Bijwasan last night when he became ill and was rushed to a hospital in Gurugram. According to police sources, preliminary examination indicates that he died of a heart attack and breathed his last breath before arriving at the hospital.
According to sources in the Delhi South West police, nothing suspicious has come to light in the investigation into the 66-year-old actor’s death. According to the sources, further investigation will provide more information on the cause and time of death.
Mr. Kaushik arrived in Delhi yesterday to join his friends in celebrating Holi. He had attended the Holi party at Javed Akhtar-Shabana Azmi’s Mumbai home the day before and had posted happy photos on social media. (Also Read: Satish Kaushik celebrated Holi just a day before his death: see pictures)
Police are still trying to figure out where he was during the day. What they do know is that he became ill while at the farmhouse in Bijwasan. He was taken to the nearby Fortis Hospital in Gurugram, but he died there.
Santosh Rai, Mr. Kaushik’s manager, was among those who rushed him to the hospital. He told the Indian news agency ANI, “He went to bed at 10.30 p.m. He called me at 12:10 a.m., complaining of shortness of breath.”
Because the patient had traveled from Delhi, the hospital notified the Delhi Police. The body was then taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for an autopsy. This morning, a postmortem was performed, and the body was returned to Mr. Kaushik’s family.
Police are in touch with Mr. Kaushik’s companions, who took him to the hospital for further investigation.
