According to a survey titled Public Pulse Report released on Monday by Gallup Pakistan, 61% of Pakistanis have a “positive opinion” of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, while only 36% do so for PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
A total of 2,000 people from all four provinces, both urban and rural, participated in the survey.
It stated that at a 95 percent confidence level, the survey’s error margin was about 3 to 4 percent.
Imran received a favourable rating from 61 percent of the population, while 37 percent gave him a negative rating, according to the report.
Furthermore, he received the highest approval ratings of any politician from the provinces, with 29 percent from Punjab, 28 percent from Sindh, and 14 percent from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on the other hand, received a negative rating from 65% of Pakistanis while only 32% gave him a favourable rating. However, Punjabis gave him higher ratings than residents of other provinces.
Nearly three out of five people (59%) rated his brother Nawaz negatively, compared to 36% who rated him favourably. Additionally, respondents from KP had a worse opinion of the PML-N leader than respondents from other provinces.
Regarding PPP Chairman Bilawal, only 36% of respondents gave him a favourable rating while 57% were unfavourable. He received the highest approval ratings from Sindh out of all the provinces.
However, 61 percent of respondents had negative opinions of PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz, while 34 percent had positive opinions. In contrast to other provinces, “people from Punjab see her in a positive light,” according to the survey.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), was rated negatively by 57 percent of respondents while receiving only 31 percent of positive responses. He was rated negatively the least by KP residents.
67 percent of people had negative opinions of former president Asif Ali Zardari, while 27 percent had positive opinions.
