Islamabad United won their first match of the competition, defeating the home team, Karachi Kings, who suffered their second consecutive defeat in the competition.
Haider Ali’s sensational half-century propelled Karachi Kings to 173/7. Karachi was on track to post a much higher total, but some quality bowling by Islamabad United limited them to a manageable total.
Islamabad struggled early in their innings, losing Paul Stirling and Hassan Nawaz for pennies. Colin Munro and Rassie van der Dussen rebuilt the innings, putting United in command. Munro hit a 24-ball half-century to set up the chase perfectly. Azam Khan made solid contribution as Islamabad chased down the target comfortably.
Islamabad won the match by 4 wickets as they gained their first points in the PSL standings and moved to the 2nd spot in the table.
