Indian airline takes Patna-bound passenger to Udaipur. Afsar Hussain had purchased a ticket on Indigo aircraft 6E-214 heading for Patna, and he had arrived at the airport in Delhi, but he had accidentally selected flight 6E-319 from Indigo headed for Udaipur.
Only after landing at Udaipur Airport did Hussain realise he had made a mistake, during which airport staff informed the airline. He was reportedly returned to Delhi before being sent to Patna on January 31.
As the inquiry has been ordered, a DGCA official said a report has been sought on the matter and appropriate action will be taken against the airline primarily because boarding passes are checked at two points and none of the relevant checking officers noticed the anomaly.

It’s interesting to note that a similar occurrence occurred a few weeks ago when a traveller who had a ticket and boarding card from the airline for a flight headed to Indore boarded the wrong one and landed at the airport in Nagpur.
